I was told that wearing a ring on your thumb means you are gay....is this true?

I've run a poll on a site devoted to thumb rings to get the answer to this question. By far the most common answer from the folks who wear them is that it is a fashion statement. Many people says it makes them feel sexy. The vast minority who wear them do it because of his or her sexual orientation.
Interestingly, those who don't wear them but have responded to the poll by far think that thumb rings signify sexual orientation, but that doesn't bear out from the responses of those who wear them.
I think that at one time they may have been a sign of sexual orientation, but over time it has become a fashion statement. The same could be said about men wearing earrings. Once it was uncommon and usually done only by the gay community, and now they are worn by many people.
I haven't seen a single response where someone is wearing them for health reasons, although I am sure there are some who do.

They say also that wearing green on Thursday or violet on Tuesdays means that you are gay also...
There are many people I know that uses rings, not only on the thumb, but in every finger in their hands. Do that mean that they are gay? I don't think so. By the way, I do have a gay friend who uses a ring in the nose, and one of my neighbor is a gay too and doesn't use a ring anywhere...
I think that you can wear any ring you want in any finger you want, and that doesn't mean anything, but a pretty decoration for our fingers, or any other part of the body...
Soon they will say that if you don't wear a ring at all you are gay too...
Relax, and be who you are and don't let prejudices and intolerant people to judge you. And be Cool!!!

I wore thumb rings for 15 years and finally got sick of the stigma of it may mean you are gay. I had a co-worker who was gayer than the human torch saying FLAME ON! Apparently because he was gay and had a male partner, what his word was on the subject caused my rings to come into question. Listen, I wore thumb rings before he knew he was gay. They stole the rainbow, don t let them steal your freedom to wear a ring on a thumb. I know it s a touchy subject these days, but listen, I was here before you. Sit down before you fall down all you people who want to decipher what wearing a thumb ring means.

Wearing a thumb ring has as much bearing on being gay as drinking hot chocolate or riding a bike.

Gay or not, other than a fashion statement, it adds to the sensation of having your male private part handled and played with. I've seen both male and female people wearing a thumb rings.

I never heard abot that! I've been wearing a ring on my left thumb for the last 12 years, and I'm 100% straight; can a person be labelled because of a ring? Hope not!

no, it s only us who related sexual orientation with this.
thumb rings are so hot on girls, and they attract me in a crazy way.
I wouldnt look at the face, never.
The first and only thing I look at when I look at a girl is her hands, and her thumbs to be specific.
and if she wears any, my goodness, I d die for that.
