The only advice i can offer it to open it with Fireworks, then click the image size button to get the dimensions. Divide both width and height buy three to get the size of one ninth. use the line tool to split the picture into nine parts then save nine copies. on the first one, using the lines a guides, use the crop tool the select the top left box and press return. do this with a different box in each pictures and save you now have nine small pictures that will make up the one you started with. Sorry its a bit tedious to do but its all I got.

A free version of GIMP is available here: [link]

GIMP is a free software you can use for loads of tasks (photo-retouching, image authoring, image compositioning, photo editing.). It's the best free photo editing tool available for free. It's not as powerful as photoshop but can be easily augmented with expensions and plugins if you need professional and advanced features. You can use GIMP as a simple paint program or a complex image manipulation software (thanks to an advanced scripting interface). Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.

Well if you must, I would copy and rename the photo 8 times then use photoshop to crop each part of your jigsaw. If you don't have Photoshop I understand that there is a similar program called Gimp that you can download for free.

The simplest - if a little tedious - way is probably to work out what one-third of the height and width is, and then (eg for a 2000 x 3000 image):

Select (0,0) to (666,999) ... Copy ... Paste as new image
Select (667,0) to (1333,999) ... Copy .. Paste as new image
Select (1334,0) to (1999,999) ... Copy .. Paste as new image
Select (0,1000) to (666,1999) ... Copy ... Paste as new image

and so on
