You have no time to worry about it. When a child, you are enjoying the love and care of your fond parents. When young, you are either in a school/college or have just entered life. It is all a highly packed up game; no moments to think about such a remote happening as being old. Then, you reach your middle age and while the work profile is downing, you are still active and will not find time to think about some of the impending eventualities. Your children are growing and getting their spouses and families and so on. You are on a different platform but again busy sorting many problems out, not for others including your own children. After this, something not thought out ever before creeps in and that is the onset of the so called old age. Now, this comes upon you and you just cannot escape it. So, take it, accept it, and lead it with the same power, enthusiasm as you had been doing so far. Age profile changes but the approach profile remains full of happiness and enthusiasm. And thus leaves no scope for worry at all at any time whatsoever. It is always so strengthening to be an optimist.

Yeah and I wish I didn't. It wasn't something I thought about at all until I was about 25 (3 yrs ago) I mostly started to worry because I was thinking about accomplishments, etc.. I somehow got the idea in my head that I'm running out of time and that I need to make certain decisions about what I 'really' want in life. I know I have to relax about it or else I won't be able to enjoy my life.

I don't worry so much, I sort of HOPE, is more the word.

Hope that I never lose my mental faculties or become so old and frail I can't enjoy life anymore.

Diseases and traumas of the mind are my biggest fear...

However, I have met plenty of people in their late 80's who are still quite energetic and all together in every way.

Some people fear getting old, but the way I see it - you are only as old as you think you are.

In other words, don't turn over and die just because you turn 80.
Life is what you make it.

I think worrying about NOT getting old would be worrying better spent.

I never used to give it much thought, untill I lost my job and income
I am over 50 now and have grey hair. I have also been ddiscriminated aginst because of grey hair, age and physical apperances. Now the thought of old age is a huge turn off to me.

How can you function in life, when you feel useless and cast to one side all the time???

No, you can't spend all of your time worrying, stressing and trying to fix something that is inevitable. Everyone gets old unless they die first. Enjoy what you have while you have it.
