This morning I noticed the side mirror on my 94 Nissan Sentra has a crack in it.
I just got my car back from the mechanic last night. Last night, I only drove it two blocks to my house, it was dark and didn't notice if the crack was there or not. This morning I notcied it immediately, so I think I should have noticed it immediately last night even though it was dark. After all I use the mirror every time I drive.

There are no fingerprints on the mirror from anyone pushing on it, and no evidence that some one might have tried to wipe off fingerprints and there's no "rub" marks on the car as if someone might have fell into it. (the dirt is consistant).

The temperature did drop from the 30s to the teens last night, and I wonder if the temperature might have madeit crack, but I never heard of anything like that before. My other thought is that the AAA tow truck people cracked it.

i think it can, last winter i went to warm up my car and my side mirror was cracked,???? i park where there is no traffic, so there is no way a rock or anything else could have been flipped up on it.

If there was a slight flaw in the mirror (something so small that you would not even have noticed) the temperature change could have stressed if enough for it to crack.

Seeing as you say yourself that "I think I should have noticed it immediately last night even though it was dark. After all I use the mirror every time I drive." there is no way that you can blame anyone else.

It looks to me, that absent evidence of someone damaging the mirror, you will have to pay for the repair yourself. You may be able to get a replacement mirror glass from an auto parts store, or you may get a replacement mirror assembly from a scrapyard!

Check the alternator because it's what keeps your battery charged. If your alternator is bad your battery will go out and it doesn't matter how new your battery is. If you run straight on battery your battery won't last long. You can get both the alternator and battery check at an auto parts store for free. They can see tell you if it's bad or not. It could be the ignition but it doesn't sound like it for what you are describing. Do you have power, like do the lights work, radio when you have trouble starting it? If you do have power but can't get the car started. It might be your starter too.

No, if that could happen, the people that live i the Northeast would be replacing mirrors every year when the get a week straight or better of temperatures that never get above 0.

It could have cracked if water somehow got behind the mirror,if the temperature dropped enough. Was the vehicle washed before you picked it up???

The weather shouldn't have an effect, unless it was hot and cooled too quickly. I'd call AAA and complain.
