And the answer given was: "You have forgotten more than I will ever know about Florida but, speaking of white beaches, google "Whitehaven Beach" which is located on the Whitsunday Islands, a collective of continental islands of various sizes off the coast of Queensland, Australia, situated between Townsville and Mackay and some 900km north of Brisbane.
The sand there is pure silica! It actually glows, its breath taking. "
And this was accepted as the best answer, how does it answer the question? I see instances like this all the time. By the way the white sand comes from quartz crystal.

Well, quartz crystal is pure silica, so the question was answered, if only partly. As to where the quartz came from to make the sand, probably up the coast from the mountains of what is now Georgia.

Rivers and ocean currents transport tremendous quantities of sediments into Florida derived from the Appalachian Mountains and southeastern coastal plain. Much of the quartz sand covering the state today, as well as the heavy mineral deposits, trace their origin to the Appalachian Mountains. "

White. brides: purity. Simplicity. innocence. purple: pastime, risk = an intuition as human blood is purple. Love. green: nature, vegetation, grass etc. Blue, sky, water, ice. colorings have extra potential than we be conscious. the only thank you to appreciate this, think of each and every thing in black and white? like a black and white action picture. think of nutrition in black and white, the attraction of nutrition may well be lost.

The first thing I would ask would be was the best answer chosen by the Asker or by Users (through voting)?

If it was by voting, it is (and always has been) possible to vote for your own answer. If that answerer voted for his/her own answer and nobody else voted, then it would show as best answer.

Unfair or what? It happens!
