i live in Chicago where Obama is from, I have witnessed his lack of b a l l s in standing up to his own party. He was ORDERED BY Mayor Daley to endorse Todd Stroger for county board president in the local election and he did. Stroger is a n'er do well who was part of Democratic machine politics which kept the seriousness of his father's (who was at the time, County Board Prez) illness a secret ito prevent others from fiing their intent to run for this office, Stroger also has just cut all the budgets for programs for the poor Health clinics will close, the wait to see a doctor will be longer and there will be fewer prosecutors in courtrooms, but no taxes will be raised in Cook County Board President Todd Stroger's 2007 budget proposal. closing 16 health clinics, including those in schools, Phoenix, Harvey and those on the West Side, Woodlawn and Near South Side in Chicago some of the poorest areas

OK well why NOT raise taxes instead of cutting services, well of course the taxes would go up to this guy Strogers friends and benefactors, now if Obama can be TOLD what to do by a machine, what good is he in the white house I think he needs more time in the senate and around politics he is ONLY a junior senator, he has not got anything to fight these guys back with yet..no "chips" to call in if you will and isn't having levrage imporatnt in politics? He has none against being TOLD what to do.

i just don't see him as "his own man" politically yet is all, and think he needs more experience, I don't see him as pretending to be "playing the game" doing what these guys tell him to do t get to the White House, if he is he sacrificed alot of poor people and programs to get there with his endorsement of the local guy Stroger is how I see it, and is he just another candidate who lives by the theory that "the ends justifies the means" as long as he get his power?

I'm sorry but I don't agree. I see him as a highly intelligent and capable individual. Where did George Bush come from ? He was a former drug and alcohol abuser who couldn't manage his daddy's oil business or a baseball team.

Obama is highly qualified, being a Constitutional professor and having a legal background. I remember everyone said this about John Edwards in 2004. No one saw that he was the most qualified out of all the candidates. They were too busy yelling he didn't have any experience.

To me, honesty and integrity is what matters most. Obama has that.

Poor Obama is already getting the full court press Limbaugh treatment. The GOP has learned that it can't fight him with grace, style and power to inspire. So, as it did with Clinton, it will try to erode faith in him with a neocon media blitz. First, by claiming he's a muslim (a lie) and then that his 9 years experience as Illinois senator, and his 1 year experience as US senator makes him "too inexperienced".

What had Bush done, other than be governor of Texas, first time he ran?

Well he talks a good game but he hasn't talked at length about the nitty gritty. Social Security, Iraq, the environment, defense, immigration, abortion and gay marriage, stem cell research, blah, blah, blah.

Look, I think if the Democrats (and that includes me) put this guy at the head of the ticket, it's 4 more years of GOP administrations. He's a light weight media darling until I see otherwise.

His lack of experience is my greatest concern. He would stand a better chance in 2012 or 2016.

Harry Reid would probably be his chief of staff.

He is too inexperienced, too much is unknown about him and the Presidency needs a leader who has a solid background in political matters, world situations along with maturity.

My big concern is his push for socialized medicine. Socialized medicine has ruined every western democracy it has infected. Yes, it would be nice to say everybody gets unlimited access to the most advanced healthcare the world has ever offered, but somebody's got to pay for it.

Lack of experience and too far left wing. Plus, the media loves him.
