The 6th sense. I really liked the suspense and the ending. However, it's probably not classed as a horror. If true horror, I'd have to say the first Halloween. Awesome.

The Japanese version of the Ring scared the heck out of me! I couldn't sleep for days! Also the Eye by the Pang Brothers was another good creepfest. The 6th Sense was smart and really scary.

The Thing is pretty messed up!
The extended music video for Thriller well scared me as a kid.and still does now!
Nightmare On Elm Street back in the day was the scariest one though.

Possibly Long Time Dead or The Haunting. And have to agree, What Lies Beneath was excellent.
Also, the original Black Christmas and the original Poltergeist were excellent spine chillers.
