I think this is a good question and I've wondered it myself for a while. I think the answer is three fold. Some people just like the conversations that go on here, sometimes they are simply fun and alittle risque and people are looking for entertainment. And then there are those who don't have anything going on in their lives so they spend their days and nights posting questions intended on stirring things up while hiding behind the computer screen. Then I think there is also, simply, the stupid. I see numerous postings for questions that don't even come close to GLBT forum, in particular from non-English speaking people and I have to think they simply don't understand where they are posting.
I have to say its not just this forum. I never have read anything so disgusting as the posts on MLK day in the culture section. I believe people don't think they can be held accountable so they just write whatever they want. Having good character is a self induced practice and we are always accountable.

Because I volunteer as a straight ally in a GLBT centre where I live and am proud to say that I am one. I also volunteer for an anti-bullying committee. Coming to this section of Yahoo Answers is just an extension of what I do at work as far as I'm concerned. GLBT rights is something I care about passionately, and for all the haters that come here and bash some kid who is wondering how to come out of the closet to his parents, I want to be the straight person that convinces them that there are other people that like them for who they are.
THAT'S why!

Maybe we are just curious. Maybe we have a family member that is gay and are trying to understand. Maybe we got this page from a generic question we didn't know was a gay question. Maybe to see how many gay are a*s*s Holes. Maybe to see if gays hate straight people. Maybe questions like this don't make gays look to good. But what ever the reason is it's a free country and we still have a right to come on here. So if you have a gay secret Don't let it out in public.

It is one of the questions that pop up on the main list of new questions. I understand your frustration. People should not answer a question just to leave critism. I like the door knob comment!

My my someone is sounding a little angry this morning... Why do you assume someone spends there whole day in a section just waiting for you to post a question. Thats a bit pompus on your part isn't it? Just because I may or may not be straight does not mean that I can not answer a quesiton or voice my opinion. Well, maybe it's a morbid fascination....I know that I have been around gay people all of my adult life and their cool but I still am perplexed by a dude kissing a dude! I'm not hating I'm just saying...I don't get it!

Why do atheist spend so much time in religion and spirituality?
Truth is they just see the question on the latest questions list and choose to answer it and it takes them here like it did me to answer yours.
