I do not see why not. The 455 is a very stronge engine. They put them in the older model T/A's. Run a compression test on the engine make sure it does not need to be rebuilt. I do believe you would have a nice street rod though. Even a little spray would help you out.

A 455 is a 455 no matter what GM car it is in. Pontiac's were popular for building but the motor is still a 455. Chev, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac. There may have been some minor mods to the appearance of the motor, especially on the top by the division of GM that built it. Remember, the saying used to be "There is no substitute for cubic inches" If you are going to try to build this motor, someone in your family should own a gas station. Try ebay for parts and help.

does it not have a 12 bolt already ? this sounds like fun , put that Buick on a diet and I'm shure you could find lots of ways to loose 3-500 pounds easy with creative use of a hole saw or sawsall 800 to 1000 lb. drop is possible , a whiff of nitrous ( not too much , melted motors are not fun ) and you will need drag slicks , as for rear ends , start measuring pickup trucks , might find a Chevy with posi and 4.11 's , good luck be safe
