Hmmm....maybe in the same vein that 665 and 667 are the "neighbors of the beast."

Good question.
Actually, the number is not evil. In many copies of the bible, in fact, the number was actually 616. The interesting thing is that many people believe the beast was actually a description of the Emperor Nero, who persecuted christians, and that the book of Revelation was an allegory of that time, and not about the future.
Now the cool part. Hebrew has this thing called Gematria, or Numerology. If you take someone's name, the letters all have a value, and add up to a number. If you write the name NERO in Hebrew, it adds up to 616! Hebrew can also add an "N" at the end of names ending with a vowel from Greek and Latin. If you add an N, and make it a hebraicized name "NERON", guess what it adds up to?...666!
To me, this proves that some of the early Christians added the name up differently and that this accounts for the existence of manuscripts that say 616, and 666. Either way, it's clear that 666 isn't a magic number. The book even hints that if you have "understanding" you will know what the number means...hmmm

666 evil? no. 666 is a number for the sun. The number has gained evil fame because of the misinterpretations from the bible.
333 is more evil because it is 37 x 9. 37 is Man's Crown, IChIDH, the highest principle of the soul... 9 is Most Evil because of its stability.
666... 6 is the number of Jesus, the Sun, the Compassionate Saviour... extended by 3.

Nope and the "666" is the mark of the Beast. 333 is not half the mark. You would have to put a 6 then half a 6 to be half evil I guess.

666 is a great number... it's 111 less than the god number, and lets everyone get along... and for some reason i keep getting given it in phone numbers, car regos, card numbers... how odd.
and nope.... 333 doesn't make for half of that
... c'mon... what do you have against unix programmers? and are you sure you should give thumbs down to a guy whose car rego begins with 666?

666 is arguably the number/name Hebrew translation of the Emperor Nero who in addition to persecuting Christians, was a flaming homosexual and had an incestuous relationship with his mother.
John of Revelation was scared shitless of his return.
Evil, sadistic, psycho or just plain fascinating (unless you're a Christian being persecuted)
