senior? as in elderly or school-wise? I assume the latter.
FL and CA are both great. Daytona isn't all it is hyped to be, the boardwalk is dated and blah but there is still quite a bit to do there. I usually go to the more secluded beaches further up or down the coast. You do have Orlando with multiple Disney parks, Sea World, Universal parks all within an hour or so of Daytona or Cocoa Beach via I-4 if you go all the way down to Tampa there is Busch Gardens as well ... Ybor City which has a ton of clubs and bars. Kinda take for granted all the stuff when you live here, so I cannot tell you much more than that. But there is St Augustine if you want to check out a Fort and old buildings.
California should be similar, but I hear they have bigger waves, but all the theme parks as well.

Panama City, Florida has gorgeous beaches. Savannah, Georgia is awesome. The beaches at Tybee Island near by are nice. Plus Sandra Bullock has a home there. :o) Clearwater, Florida is also cool and Anna Maria Island near Bradenton. But Bradenton itself is pretty boring-old personville. Sarasota is near by and has some cool places to shop.

San Diego. Best vacation spot in the continental United States. Great restaurants, great sites to see, and if you're into surfing, the best in the country.

Pennsacola Florida, is beautiful. It's right on the Gulf of Mexico, so you get the best of both worlds, as far as the ocean goes. Hope you have lots of fun. Of course, Cali is a lot of fun too, but more expensive.
