I think bad coaching and player mistakes were a big part........Brady doesn't get the credit he deserves and people tend to overlook his fantastic comeback ability........On paper the Chargers looked like much the stronger team but on the field the Pats showed, once again, they don't and won't give up.......They got heart..........The Chargers lost heart........CAT

Actually, as former Dallas and Miami head coach Jimmy Johnson stated. They didn't play Martyball that game and they actually should have played Martyball if they wanted to win. New England was doing a poor job of stopping the run, so why not use your MVP and run it right down their throat? You're on your home field, New England was weak against the run. Play Martyball and win like you did all year in the regular season.

The other part that lost the game for the Chargers was the San Diego Chargers secondary line of defense. The Chargers are great at rushing the passer as was evident by the number of times they sacked Brady. However the Chargers secondary wasn't the best at stopping the long passes, which Tom Brady knew would be their weakness.

At the beginning of the game, New England went with what normally works for them. And that is what Indianapolis has been using for most of this year (copying what the Patriots have done in years past), short accurate passes for just a few yards and running the ball. However when you blitz a lot and normally are good at rushing the passer and getting sacks, that normally leaves you vulnerable to the long bomb pass to the team's wide receivers. And it makes you very strong against the short accurate passes and the run. So Tom Brady had to get out of his normal short pass comfort zone and start throwing some 15-30 yard passes to his wide receivers. And that is exactly what he did in the second half.

New England had all they could handle in order to beat the Chargers. In my opinion, the Chargers were the stronger team. It's just that the Patriots played a little smarter and of course a little luck on your side never hurts either.

The main reason the Chargers didn't beat the Patriots is because of the Offensive Coordinator, Cam Cameron. Everyone who think Marty calls the plays for the Chargers is incorrect. Cameron is a main culprit for the following reasons.

When the game is tied and you have the ball under 5 minutes left in the game, you better give it to the NFL MVP who has man handled the Patriots in the 5 games he has played them. It is asinine that LT only had 9 carries in the second half of that game, how does Cameron justify this?

So let me focus emphasis on a key drive where the Chargers were moving the ball on the ground then successfully. All of the sudden you start passing to WR's who have made key drops??? The one pass to Vincent Jackson where Colvin made a great interception of his shoulder should of never been called in the first place. You have LT for crying out loud keep the ball on the ground and eat the clock!

I blame Cameron hands down, but Marty made matters worse by challenging that fumble which Helen Keller could clearly see was a fumble without replay! I am sure nobody thought of it at the time, but they could of had that timeout at the end of the game when there was 8 second on the clock. That's another thing, you have 8 seconds on the CLOCK, 8! Call a sideline pattern and pick up a 4 or 5 more yards to shorten the kick!

With all these factors in play, you cannot win football games when you don't utilize your clutch players. Gates needed to be involved more and for the love of GOD LT should never stop getting the ball in the second half. If it was 4th and 2 and I had Neal blocking for LT, I would run him in a heartbeat!

The Ironic thing is after going 14-2, the media is calling for Marty's job which is stupidest thing I have ever heard of this season yet! The next man to step up is Cam Cameron and this is the man that lost you the game Sunday by not running LT in the second half, wake up AMERICA!

The Chargers lost due to POOR CLOCK MANAGEMENT!! There is no reason why, with aproximately 5 minutes, Ladanian Tomlinson, and an 11-point lead the Chargers should have lost. Bear in mind, I am a Pats fan, and Sunday was my birthday, so I'm not complaining, but I know for sure that if the shoe had been on the other foot, there is NO WAY the Pats would have given the ball back with that much time on the clock. We had enough time for 2 DRIVES!! All they had to do was hand the ball off to Tomlinson a few times, and get a few first downs. Under No Circumstances should they have been throwing the ball on 1st and 2nd down.

Besides that they can not catch the ball, they did not play smart. If you fumble, just fall on it. Don't commit Personal fouls, especially when it would be 4th and 13 for the other team. Don't go for it on 4th and 11 when you can kick a field goal. Don't challenge a play in the second half and lose a timeout if there if no chance for a reversal.

And last, but not least, the one time they caught the ball was when they should have swatted it down (4th down for the Pats).

They basically beat themselves. Maybe a better way to say it was they left the Pats in the game. The Chargers should have been up by 20.

Chargers need better recievers which they hope to get in the draft. They needed to rely more on their running game i mean you've got the best running back since Brown so use him and when you play a running game you eat clock.

Never go for it on 4th down unless you're behind by more than a touchdown and there is little time left and when they expect you to rush or to cover the short pass instead double team the recievers. Don't give Brady anyone to pass to.

The Patriots reminded me of that person in a long distance race who sticks around for most of the race, but then pulls away at the end. They did enough to bring it down to the last few minutes and then, well Brady + Near end of game + FG to win = Patriots victory

LT only had 23 carries.

Schottenheimer made some awful clock-management (ie: timeout) decisions.

Tom Brady sold his soul to the devil for playoff greatness.

Too many blown interceptions and/or receptions -- not enough catches that should have been there on either side of the ball.

But if you ask the White House they'll tell you that Al-Qaeda had something to do with it and we should probably start bombing some other third-world country that just happens to contain a butt-load of oil.

cuz they are not a smart and disciplined team. they made some bad plays and coaching decisions and made it possible for the Pats to catch up and win

because they turned it over way to much and couldnt hold on to the ball or throw it to their wide recievers. the special teams was terrible including their kicker who missed the field goal.
