i am doing masters in economics and i want to know the scope of this subject

Using this term could indicate that any of a variety of topics will be covered. As stated by the previous answer, I would expect that monetary policy and its impact on the economy will be covered. There is also likely a portion of the course devoted to how the bond and stock markets would react to different shocks to the economy. Perhaps some history of the monetary system could show up in the course. Without knowing what exactly comes after the monetary, it is hard to narrow it any more than that.

On a side note, some of the best economic courses I ever took dealt with monetary topics. Have fun!

Hmmm.....

Monetary policy is the process by which the FEDS maintain stable prices and full employment by one of two things:

1. Raising or lowering interest prices
2. Buying or selling bonds

The FEDS are always slowly shifting the economy away from inflation and recession using monetary policy.
