I've been doing it for years. You'll find that a LOT of companies move back to the U.K within the next few years. Some have already started.

Yes you should hang up if anyone from india calls you. And I recommend not talking to any call center that uses them. Go to the website and use it instead. These India people live in the call centers and get paid dollars a week with free food and free sleeping in the office.
Some companies use them as a back up so if you hang up and call back you may get a US call center.
I also recommend hanging up and calling back if the US person you get has a strange accent. We need people that can understand us and if they can not speak without some strange accent they should not be answering calls.

What do you mean by 'useless'. I think they're helpful except of course for the small problem that they are sometimes hard to understand which doesn't make much difference to me because before they were all up north and as a born and bred Londer I found them difficult to understand.
However, if you want to boycott them on the fact that they are taking away British jobs then good for you.

When we are trying to understand each other over the phone, it doesn't always seem like the best solution, but it is cost effective. I watched a documentary on the call center industry in India. It is viewed as a very prestigious career.
Boycotting them would leave you in a poor position since most companies have a call center using Indian representatives.

Don't blame the Indians, blame the greedy companies that use them and boycott them.

You can't really boycott them - if you have a query you need answering, you're gonna need to ask them. Most call centres are based in India these days, so it's hard to avoid them.

Yes,good idea.I cannot understand a word they say--it is incredibly frustrating.
(I live in the USA,and it would most likely close us down too, though.)
