Genius is a much misunderstood term. It was oroginally coined to describe those with high IQ's or intelligence quotients. The concept of intelligence today has become muddied by studies, both scientific and ridiculous. It is possible to produce excellent art and be unable to perform well in other fields, even simple things. Examples abound of genius without common sense. Einstein, for instance, was very bad at simple arithmetic and he never wore socks, as it was too much trouble to wash or darn them.
