I'm updating my profolio as the company I am working for has dried up considerally in the design area and I am stuck doing production work at the moment.. If anyone has any Ideas of things I can design and put in my portfolio would be awesome, even if you own your own company and looking for a logo made up or something for free tell me the company name, a brief description of what you do and include the email address and I'll send you a design for free, as it will be helping me get the creative juices flowing, scratching up on my skills and completing my portfolio, Points go to the design I have most fun doing!! Thanks again!

Hi, visit website jurgita.com which has quite big designer community. You can contact them in private or use their public forum. I've noticed that forum has a new topic called designer practice, where designers like you should ask for advices from professionals. Dont hesitate to try posting there :)

*groans at the production thing*...i know how you feel...

I could use a logo though...pop me an email and we can talk about it :)...

here's a few things...

- create a promo poster...mid evil, WoW, D and D for the new era...like your a peasant back in the day...walking along and seeing this promo poster hanging on the post :)...

- stylized concept...you're a building engineer in the Pleiades star cluster with a new concept for a "vista" complex

- new products...new lighting system...specialized house lighting system promo...seasonal variable system that changes the outside mood of your house based on the current month and weather :)

- booth design *sorry CES is still fresh in my head :)*...take a company *fake or otherwise* and create a show booth for them...design the layout with all signage and "handouts"...sometimes if i'm feeling ambitious I might even create a scale mockup of the booth instead of just floorplans and flat art :)

a few things that help to get the juices flowing...
- when your at the store...get some things that look interesting and come up with a sales hotsheet *1 or 2 things* or 4-pager *like a nestle add*...

- take something you did earlier that you had a blast with...or maybe something that they "made" you design that way...scrap it and do a complete redesign...this one not only helps but you can add it to the portfolio as concepts to that design :)

i'm presently a layout student. even as i became employing for colleges I spent a mess of time going to portfolio comments to get comments on my artwork. the real concern to make certain about layout colleges is they don't seem to be searching for designers! they want resourceful project solvers that they could become designers. you'll locate that any good layout college starts you off with a rigorous high-quality artwork beginning. you want to artwork on strengthening your project drawing skills, use of shade and line ect. Your portfolio should be properly rounded with one of those mediums yet highly existence drawings. some colleges want to make certain your ideation too. (Thats your sketchbook the position you probably did your sketches and brainstorming) Be prepared to grant an articulate description of each bit and the ideas in the back of it. you may comprise a number of your layout artwork yet colleges are maximum in touch to make certain the way you preform as an artist. layout is all about project fixing and smart wondering. we are a loopy mix of intelligence, resourceful ability, and...sleep depravation. seem into searching some portfolio evaluation activities on your section. They were so valuable for me!
