I started playing it when I was 11 (now I'm 14) and I really want to take it seriously...the problem is, in international tournees I meet kids younger than me playing advanced pieces..that sorta turns me down...If I practice daily...do you (if there are any violin, cello or viola players ou there...) think I can do it? :(...

Its never too late, if you love it I say keep playing, it isnt the olympics where you have to stop at a certain age. There are violinists right now that started in their teens, now they are adults and the most recognized violinists. Dont let it get you down and practice makes best.

oh no it's never too late to start playing the violin. in fact it's never too late to do anything you want to do. you are still young so i would go for it. don't worry about the other little kids playing advanced pieces, i am sure will will catch up to them very soon if you practice daily and have decent violin teacher. ;)

Follow your dreams. If its God's will then you'll be a violinist. The problem that you were saying...when you saw the kids that were younger than you playing advanced pieces..actually that's not a problem ..think that it's a challenge to you..to be a better violinist.

While true that the ealier you start the better, you can still learn and be as good as you can be. I was a late starter with piano, but wound up finally getting my master's from Peabody Conservatory. Work hard and do what you love.

It's not at all too (not "to") late, but you would need to find a good teacher and practice regularly, listen to music a lot, study the piano as well, and tend to your overall education. Not too late. Not even close.
