That's like asking how long it took to build any city, really, because any city is being built until it is completely destroyed. ANCIENT Rome was destroyed by fire centuries ago but not completely,and still currently exists. It's the capital of Italy. If you're asking how long between when Rome was first established until when it burned down, I don't know.
