That book gave me the creeps, which is why it was so brilliant. The fact that someone could be capable of administering torture to another. I like the book, better then the movie.
As for a favourite Stephen King novel...that's a difficult one, I've enjoyed most of them. "Insomnia" made the most shine on me I think.

Misery was great. I haven't read it in years; maybe I'll have to re-read it this weekend. My favorite Stephen King books are always the longest ones where he really has the time to develop the characters. The Stand was my favorite until he released The Stand Uncut Version. Just awesome. Another great one is It (which is the clown book-to-film adaptation that Menamie asked about).

Misery was ok. The book was a lot better than the movie. It was cool when the book started missing the letters just like the typewriter. I like some Stephen King novels while I cant stand others. Some of his books, like Misery, just get boring and drag a little. Its hard to hold my interest. My favorites by him are "IT" and "Gerald's Game"

What a great book! Unfortunately I spoiled it slightly by watching the film first. What was the other Stephen King book-to-film adaption that featured a clown? Now that is one scary film!

Yeah it was hard to read. I couldn't watch the movie except through splayed fingers.

My favorite Stephen King book without a doubt is "The Stand," and I've read them all. Just finished his new one "Lisey's Story." It was pretty good.

Nothing boring about this author's work. He keeps one spellbound. Excellent.
