I had one before it became legal, back in 1980. I was Blabbermouth :-)
Living in NW Scotland, CBs were great to keep in touch with people as the area is so remote. We used to be able to talk to people across the water on Mainland Scotland.
W used to play hiden seek with cars, go on trips round the island, general chit chat, and on a few occasions call ambulances to accidents, fire brigade to fires and lifeboats when flares were spotted out at sea!
We had no problems with kids, or people being abusive or playing music on the calling channel - we went round and snammed their areials cos what they were doing was illegal so they couldn't do anything about it :-)
This all changed when it went legal and hundreds of 3 Watts appeared (wots your handle, wots the crack, what am i pushing on your meter, then 10 10 Im gone)
Had a Ham Multimode 2 and used to DX all over the place, during peak sunspot activity could talk to people all over the world.
