No, something is wrong if they are doing that. Most animals that eat thier young are meat eaters and their young are born helpless. Piggies don't usually eat meat and are born looking and acting like mini-piggies. Usually the mother will only eat ones that she miscarried due to chromosomal defects or disease. Be very careful breeding piggies, they are fragile and lots can go wrong. I've attached a site that should have some info to help you keep this from happening again.

It is very unusual for guinea pigs to eat their young. They do not even typically cannibalize their dead. If they are doing either, they are in an environment that is grossly inappropriate for them.

Any animal will eat it's young if it is stressed by overcrowding or just plain stressed out. Males in particular should be separated from the litter because they will eat the young more readily than the female.

yes its very normal its is same with mother cats if the mothers believe there baby is sick or is going to die she will eat it to prevent infection to the other kittens in your case guinea pigs

No, baby guinea pigs are born fully formed and ready to go the parents won't eat them, even if they are born dead.

yes, they eat them if they are stressed and can't handle parenthood, if there are too many young or if they feel there young are in danger, they protect them, think thy are, from anyone who wants to hurt them
