No Rotts territorial and have oner master only. So it does not matter how they are treated they will respond if they feel threatened.

There is nothing wrong with it. EVERY breed of dog - from a poodle to a doberman is potentially vicious. Just because a dog isnt classed as "dangerous" does not mean that they are not capable of mauling and killing a child.
It makes me sick when people classify these people as careless for keeping a "dangerous" dog - we had dobermen and alsations all through childhood and they were like part of the family - whilst my parents all took cautions around us regarding the dogs - they were still fantastic animals without a mean streak.
It also makes me sick when you hear about these dogs being killers - at the end of the day - if people dont supervise animals with children they are asking for trouble - its not wrong to keep them as you suggest - just negligence if they are not kept properly.

depends on your opinion of a dangerous dog. sometimes the parents are what are truly dangerous. ignorance isn't always bliss. people that have never had a dog, but decide they want a puppy for the young 'uns, should do research (read books, talk to breeders), before they bring home what people consider a dangerous breed. breeds aren't dangerous. they've just been given the reputation because of what people have done. for 15 years i had a golden/border x that had been abused for 2 years. my son was about 7 at the time. i could never trust him. he was even registered with the police. but we never had a problem. i made sure i was in control all the time. boe knew and understood the rules. but i'd been working with abused and neglected horses and dogs since i was 10. i waited until my son was grown up before i got my wolf mix though. and i put him in his bedroom when small children come over. i will never trust him with small kids. i was attacked repeatedly by my great-grandmothers chihuahua when i was 4, and twice by the same japanese pappilion when i was 6. but i've never met a viscious pit bull (i know they're out there. i hear the news.) or rotti. by the way, i work at state line pet supply and we have a regular parade of all breeds every day. i recently heard that besides breeding mothers & sons etc, apparently some of these dogs get their food doctored with stuff to make them even crazier.

It's not the dog that is inheirently "dangerous". It is the way he is trained or the lack of training that makes a dog truly dangerous. Most dogs are very easy to be around and enjoy people.

It's sad that dog breeds get a bad reputation because misinformed and porr intentions of some people. It's always easy to blame the dog and NOT the person.

All dogs are potentially dangerous - the dog that statistically attacks most is a labrador (not the same one each time though - the breed as a whole). Suprised ?

Just because a breed is labeled dangerous does not mean they will be. I have raised Dobies and Rotts for 20 + years, how a dog is raised will affect its behaviour.Any dog can be dangerous if it's abused or mistreated when young.

I think its the way the dog is treated that makes it dangerous, if you train it properly there shouldnt be a problem.
I have a friend who has always kept rotties, and his dogs have never been threatening in any way, even with strangers or small children.

All breeds of dogs are potentially dangerous, it is how you train and socialise them that will determine their nature.

Owners with brains realise this and look after their dogs accordingly.

Not all rottweiler owners are drug dealers Ecky Boy, I know many owners who don't take never mind deal drugs. It must be the dodgy area you live in.

any breed of dog can be potentially dangerous to children. a child playing with a dog is dangerous. i own a fluffy-wuffy and beautiful pitbull, but i never leave him alone with my 4 year old son and i never let him roam around my house.

As long as they hold them to be safe in a certain area away from their children then its ok. If not, therees something seriouslly wrong with them because , they should know they are putting their own child through potential danger.
Best answer.
Peace be to you.

they have deludeed themselves into thinking that they are a better owner than those "other people who can't control their dogs". they believe that their dogs fear them so much that they would never consider ever attacking someone in the family.

either that or they are just the type of parents who probably leave their toddlers alone in the bathtub and go fall asleep on the couch.
