On the American Revolution?
Well, first of all, Grant was a Union general in the American Civil War, not the Revolutionary War.

O - Original (Original Thirteen Colonies)
Origin (Origins of the Revolution...)
U - Unalienable Rights

Y - Young nation

x - Marks the Spot. There were many in the colonies who could not write their names, so they made an X, or their own mark, signifying their agreement to a contract.
