Never. You should be equals and there is never a valid excuse for a man hitting a woman - it is abuse.

no one has authority over you. no one. you are the adult, therefore you have the authority over you. if anyone tries to tell you differently, then they are attempting to control you, your life, your decisions, your friends, your family -essentially you.
can he hit her? yes, he can hit her (meaning- he is able to/capable of). may he hit her? a very loud no!!!!! he may not. no person should strike another, especially in anger.
most abusers say that the other person provoked them into striking. that's cr*p. he hits because he wants to. he doesn't need an excuse. he just does it. period. "see what you made me do?" or "I told you if you said that one more time...", those are abusers statements. a true adult, if smart enough will get up and walk away from a person or situation that has just about reached the breaking point and they feel as if they might snap (strike out).
abusers, whether male or female are stuck at a very young age emotionally. no i'm not giving them an excuse for striking out at another. so, the husband maybe 25 or 35 or 45 but emotionally, the abuser may be 5 or 10 10 15. so, when the abuser becomes angry he or she reverts to that kid stuck inside at that child like age and react as such.
no relationship is worth salvaging if the woman lives in fear for herself (and maybe her children). you must protect yourself.

No neither one should feel afraid in a relationship. Hitting is not acceptable behavior on either party. Same goes for verbal, throwing objects at each other abuse its just wrong! If you are out in public is that behavior accepted if the answer is no then its no in the home too.

Men who abuse women are weak, insecure and cowards. These are not the qualities I would look for in a man. I f your husband is hitting you I would suggest you pack your bags, leave and file and order of protection or restraining order.

I know for a fact that a woman shouldn't fear her husband/spouse that is suppose to love her. I know I'm afraid of my boyfriend when he's angry. So scared sometimes, I don't want to breathe. It's a tough situation to be in, and it feels so degrading. I know that no one has authority over us, and our man has no right to intimidate us, and the excuse that we "provoke" them is bullshit.

Hell no. If he's hitting you then get the hell out. There has never been, nor will there ever be a valid reason for any man, ever ,to hit a woman.

no way should any woman be afraid of her husband. her husband is supposed to be her rock, no matter how the woman acts. there is no rule or law saying once you get married the woman has to be his slave and do as he says or pay for it. that is total b.s. i would leave him as soon as i could if i were you. if you dont, he will continue to hit you and things will continue to worsen.

Nope. marriage is supposed to be about love, It's not a prison, ideally the two would be in accord,, with the man having slightly more authority,, always seeking his wife's council on matters, the relationship should be harmonious. no violence should ever be contained in it.

A man should never hit a woman. A man doesn't know his own strength when he is angry.

No, you shouldn't have to be afraid of someone who's supposed to love you, as a matter of fact a dog shouldn't even be afraid of his master, a child shouldn't be afraid of his parents and so on,and on. I hope this helps you.
