Some people say that "God has a plan for everyone." But what if his "plan" for someone involves making that person's life a continual hell, without giving him any signs of hope? Could it be possible that God gives someone signs that he made a mistake by allowing that person to be born and makes sure that, no matter what this person does or tries to do, he won't get any breaks in life because he was cursed (and hated) from the beginning?

no, no dear....if someone's life is continual hell, then said life is void of God. Everyone was put on this earth to succeed...it's just not handed to us...we have to work for it. If you are struggling and feel that you have been "cursed"...it is something self created. If you do not feel God in your life, you have not asked Him to join you and help you in your life. He doesn't automatically help everyone...He also gave us this wonderful gift of free will and choice...and that means we must take responsibility for our own actions.

God is too big to keep track and control of every single move of every single being in this world. We bring miseries through our actions and attitude and some of us reach a state of mind to commit suicide. God made us, made the universe and overall governing principles and rules... then he gave a bit of free will to us which in any case can only be exercised within the grand governing principles and rules of the universe.... and then God is merely watching it all happen..... It would be foolish to assume God will need to interfere any more based on whatever happens, because God has already provided for all eventualities right in the beginning...

It is like a chess board where the rules are there with just one small difference... the pawns can move on their own... obviously the rules are so made that there would be no need for God to interfere at any stage and the outcomes of the pawns moving themselves can be predictable and in control..... it is a grand chess game that God has set up and is now merely watching it progress to the destined conclusion...... God being God, the rules are foolproof and the conclusion could not be changed from what was originally envisaged by God.

If you are not a believer, the question is redundant... because we ourselves have to take full responsibility for our actions and attitudes..... in other words those who take away their own lives are doing so because they think that is what is best for them... each to his own wisdom and preference!!

God presents us with many possibilities at various points throughout our lives, not one overall "plan." We have some degree of free will though we can always pray for Divine help. Sometimes we make the wrong choices; sometimes others do things that cause us problems; sometimes bad things just happen to good people. That's the downside to not being puppets, but don't forget there is a tremendous upside.

God is loving and merciful. God holds us accountable, but does not curse us. All people are children of God.

I think it's possible. But seeing as the definition of "God" generally implies a good entity, it is, in the traditional sense, highly unlikely. If you are a maltheist (one who believes in an evil god) or a dystheist (one who believes in a dychotomous god) then yes, such a thing could happen according to those belief systems. Bear in mind, however, that monotheists, agnostics, and atheists all outnumber maltheists, so if the majority rules, there is a better chance of God just not existing at all than doing something like that.

suicide is man's choice not God's. Generally people who commit suicide are mentally ill or in mental distress.

Look nowhere does it say in the bible you're going to be constantly happy and get everything you want and be fabulously rich, that's just some preachers being selective.

If anything the opposite is true we have Job who suffered unmercifully but was still faithful to the Lord.

The toils and troubles you go through are the things that build your character, make you a stronger person and test your true faith.

If you believe in karma then some people say those who have many trials in life are in payback mode for past lives. What you sow is what you reap.

I felt so unloved and hated, I believed for years my only purpose on earth was to be a suicidal statistic. About two years ago I moved from near Cleveland Ohio to Waynesville NC then Baldwin GA. What a difference sunshine made, and a new beginning. I had left all my baggage in Ohio and I could be a new me. I truly know now my biggest object in life is the way I punish myself for being born, I punish me for the way others treat me. I believe God cries with me ever time I cry, I believe in God's ultimate love. I hope we (the yahoo community) can help you to get the break you deserve. Please keep us in your life.

If we are nothing more than automatons being unable to truly choose our own path, the answer is "yes."

If we have free will to choose differing paths within God's overall plan then the answer is "no."

I believe God's word, The Bible, supports the second hypothesis and unless we accede to the inspired word then the question becomes moot - merely idle speculation. There must be a connecting point between God and Humans from which to build our argument.

My life has not been very easy but every time things go rough I seem, involuntarily, to remember this story from the Bible that I heard when I was a child. It is about a man (unfortunately I do not remember his name!) to whom God gives a lot of unfortune: his house is destroied, his children die and many other bad things and still he doesn t lose his faith in God and actually realises that this is a test of faith! And at the end of this "test" God rewards him for his endurance and wisdom! Maybe He trusts in some people more and maybe that is why He challenges theyr faith harder! His ways are mysterious...keep your faith!

All that would be a great excuse to stop trying if god existed. It's all up to us to make what we want out of our lives.
