Mine was when I was having a really vivid dream, there was an entity in the room and I couldn't move.Next thing I remember was someones hands around my throat and knees on my chest.
I thought I was going to die.didn't dare go to sleep for weeks after.

How about yours?

What you had was common, theres a whole website about it, I'll try to find the link.
When you sleep you go through stages in a certain order. And your brain paralyses you so you don't dream tyou ate a giant marshmallow and wake up to find your pillow missing.
Its basically about your brain messing up the way you wake up; you became conscious before your brain un-paralysed you. You start to feel panicky. Your brain 'knows' what the problem is and projects an image of your bad self to blame it on. Thats the best way I can describe it.
In the States born again Christians panick people into believing that they are possessed and being visited by demons.
But this is a very common problem!

I can't find the site, try some of these;
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sleep+paralysis&hl=en&lr=&start=10&sa=N

http://www.the-atlantic-paranormal-society.com/arthaunted/sleeppar.htm

Found it!
http://www.nightterrors.org/
This site will have all the info you need. These are usually one offs; a few people like me have them repeatedly.

I was caught in a tornado years ago. The tornado passed right over the building I was in. At the time I was too absorbed to be scared, .observing the ear popping effects of the low pressure within the tornado.
Later on the same day when out and about looking at the destroyed buildings with a pal we heard what we thought was another tornado approaching and I was really scared nearly filled my pants, legs went to jelly as we ran for some shelter.

As it happens it wasn't another tornado and there was nothing to fear. I have never before or since been so scared.
I suppose that fear is something you learn based on past experience.

I was working as Manager of a Comic Shop when a guy came in (drugged off his head) and tried to pick up the till and walk off with it.

As he did so he was yelling "I'm taking the F------g money! I've gotta gun and I'll F-----g shoot you you B-----d. Don't you F-----g clock my face or I'll be back for you you F---K"

He DID come back a couple of weeks later - same kind of thing, only it was the other shop worker who took the brunt of it.

Now - Quite bad BUT HERE IS THE REALLY BAD BIT................

Just imagine
- Your in a shop towards the end of the day ON YOUR OWN.
- Its starting to get dark.
- There is an 'armed' guy on the loose who has already robbed you twice and is likely to come back.
- He may come armed.
- There has been virtually NO EXTRA security added by your employers.
- He could walk in at any time.........

THAT'S THE MOST SCARED I'VE BEEN IN MY LIFE.

As most people will tell you, its not the EVENT that's bad, its the anticipation of it happening.

Going on the Oblivion ride at the Dome in 2001 at the Ministry of Sound New Years party. There were two worse extreme rides there too ( a cage contraption and a 100ft bungee cage) , but I wanted to keep me Stella down so I decided against.

I once lived in a shared house that was reputed to be haunted.

One afternoon I was doing my ironing, with my back to my door (which was upstairs) when I heard footsteps come up the stairs, along the landing - the bathroom door opened and then closed.

As one of my housemates was downstairs, I assumed it was her. Ten minutes passed and I began to wonder, so I shouted her name.

"What do you want?" she replied from downstairs.

Two of the other housemates then admitted to having had a similar experience. Needless to say, the house lights didn't go out for weeks!

Good question
I have had loads of scary nightmares, I too have found it difficult to sleep, not good eh.
The most scared I have ever been was when I had post natal depression. My mind kept going haywire, didn't quite know if I was going to loose the plot, and if I lost it, what I was going to do as a result of it......really scary not having control over your brain.....dark place I never want to go back to.

Wow, that would have terrified me, too. The most frightened I've been when I was a child. It was in the late 50's and we were doing all kinds of red and yellow alert drills for nuclear bombs. They really frightened me. One night, I heard booming sounds in the distance and my entire body became icy and I could barely breath. My stomach hurt, I was so frightened. I was sure it was bombing. My mother told me it was just thunder (which it was), but I didn't believe her until the rain came.

Be careful it is more than a dream, it is spiritual!
It happened to me when I used to play with the OUIJA table and I used to go to bed and feel I was falling and if I didn't move at least a finger I would die!
