Alcohol kicks your brains A $$, the brain is a finely tuned machine and sleep requires it to be running well and correctly. After alcohol, the brain cannot organize itself well enough to go into sleep mode or maintain it. Solution,, same as mine. Don't drink. If you really want to, give your self 5 days to recover.

Alcohol is basically a drug, and everyone's body reacts to any drug differently. Some people for example are knocked out by drugs such as valium, while they hype up another person's system. Alcohol is a depressant, and you may be experiencing sleep apnea when you drink. That is when you stop breathing for a few seconds or minutes while you are asleep and your body wakes itself up. The best thing to do is either not drink, or be prepared for a sleepless night if you do.

Alcohol contains a lot of sugar....

You are probably on a "sugar high" and that will keep you awake..
