i have 2 RES. one, most of the time underwater (the shy one). the other one, most of the time on the dry area. so, i don't know if it's too hot or too cold for them.

i live in tropical climate. the temperature is about 80 degrees all year long.

You should not need a heater, but you should still offer it a lot of space, good lighting, and good filtration.

I was told that it is necessary for them to have a warm spot to sit on regardless of the temp outside. Something to do with aiding digestion.
