Sinusitus occurs when your sinus passages swell which doesn't allow normal draining. It causes pressure and pain usually around the bridge of the nose, checks and your head in between your eyes. An antihistamine like Benadyrl works great.

Just a little factoid ... while lots of us have been diagnosed with a sinus infection or whatnot, the only true way to diagnose a sinsus infection is by X-ray, confirming opaque areas in the sinues(s). I don't know about you guys, but my doctor(s) has never even suggested an X-ray after multiple "infections." I know this doesn't answer your question, but I always found this to be interesting. :-)
