If its getting a fatal error then its not installing all the way or at all and thats why its not asking for your product key....check the disc or downloaded file and reinstall using it, if the fatal error comes up again check the EXACT error for solutions....could be a bad disc, a corrupted install file, or something already on your system causing the problem.
