Yes my stomach has gotten bigger,I think it is because our bodies are going through so much that it is just trying to readjust itself. I hear it is worse when you take the hormone replacements-Im not going for those.

While it likely is NOT thyroid related, menopausal age is a very common time for thyroid dysfuntion (namely hypothyroidism) to occur. Hypothyroidism, of course, can cause an enormous weight gain in some women. So, if you have not had blood tests to check your thyroid function with in the last 6-12 months, I would suggest requesting them from your doctor/NP. Request the entire profile, including TSH ... not JUST TSH.

Hang in there!

Hi carol, are you on HRT? I am going through Menopause and so far refuse to take it as my friends have put weight on using this. So I do what my mother did, just make sure I have a cold flannel to hand and Aspirin, sounds daft - but they got through it years ago without any other treatment and they survived.
