That big mouth of hers has got her into trouble. To quote from Yahoo news: "Broadcaster and writer Janet Street-Porter has been arrested over an allegation she racially abused another woman, a police source said on Wednesday." Any comments?

Here we go again, media jumping on that old racial abuse band waggon thing again, when you are having an argument with some one you say things in the heat of the moment, it doesn't mean that you are a racist, it just means that your mouth is working faster than your brain, I have had racial abuse hurled at me in my own country,( I am a British white male) but if I was to go to the police and report it I would be laughed at, get real.

She is a big mouth aint she?! However the comment could be taken out of context. Say if you were arguing with a fatty/blonde/policeman/thick person etc you might shout in the heat of the moment 'shut it you fat bastard/bimbo/filthy pig/retard'. Yeah, we shouldn't say these things, but a comment made in an argument should not be taken as someones final feelings towards that group/person. Janet - next time bite your tongue!

First, she'll refuse to accept a caution and it will go to trial.

She'll be acquitted after calling the Queen, Nelson Mandela and the Archbishop of York as character witnesses.

Then she'll sue the neighbour for defamation.

Then the neighbour will be gaoled for perjury and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

And the moral is: If you want to pick a fight with your neighbour, choose one who doesn't have the money to use the top lawyers.

My question is, would that other woman be arrested if she was abusing Janet Street-Porter racially? Somehow I don't think so.

Surely it would be silly to make any judgements until we know the details of the accusation, and heard both sides of the story. Otherwise it's trial by media, and surely the public is more sensible than that (I wish)...

She is an intelligent woman.
Cuddles is rights - we cannot make judgement without knowing further details.
