The word divorce can be a noun or a verb.
'to divorce' and 'to get divorced' may have slightly different meanings but grammatically, it seems that the word divorce is used as a verb in both expressions.

'get divorced' should be 'to become divorced'. The verb 'to divorce' is the process of becoming where as the latter is past tense.

to divorce is when you are giving divorce and to get divorce is when some body else divorces you.
