Speaking is a skill like any other and practice will improve it.

1) Stand in front of a mirror and speak to it. Learn what your face does when you make different sounds. You can visualize the sound as well as hear the sound. You can hone the expression that you would like to make. Remember speaking is not only about the word you say. Knowing what you look like when you speak will bring you confidence.
2) Record yourself. Nothing improves you speaking like knowing for sure what you sound like.
Both tip revolve directly around self examination.
Picking a topic:
For an argumentative speech you are better off picking a topic the you know a lot about rather than picking what you are most passionate about. Only you know what you are an authority on. Being knowledgeable about what you are speaking on brings a tremendous amount of confidence.
Good Luck!

I wrote my senior argumenative persuasive paper on why the media is out of control when it comes to women. Such as how it makes women feel about themselves.... self esteem issues... eatign disorders... plastic sugery... etc. and how it needs to be toned down.

It was pretty easy to write about since it is a common sense kind of topic.

Tips for talking in front of ppl:
1.) Be sure to talk slow and pronounce your words correctly
2.)Dont always look down... make sure to look up at your audience... you dont have to look at them directly... I hate that so I just look out into space above their heads.... no one would ever know
3.) Practice before hand... time yourself... do it in the mirror... get a general idea of what your going to say and when
4.)Stand up straight and dont play with your hands or anyting like that
5.) Put emphasis with your voice on the parts of the speech that you want to put out

You could argue the need for more nuclear power plants in the US. They are cleaner, have less enviromental impact, and supply abundant electricity when compared to other power generation methods.

As far as speaking in public, self confidence is key. If you are scared when speaking in public, the people who are listening to you will pick up on that fear, even if it is only subconciously, and people do not tend to listen to someone who is afraid.

Hope that helped
