Marriage licenses are valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. If you do not get married within 90 days, the license will no longer be valid. You must purchase a new license.

above was taken from the california gov. website... so are you NOT married when it expires?? i don't get it.

the marriage license allows you to get married...if you do not get married while the license is valid, you will need to get a new license.....good luck

i would like to add to the elite woman's answer. while a marriage license is similar to a hunting license, you cannot shoot him during the 90 day period.

its like a hunting lic

if i don't get a deer from the time it expires next yr i have to get another lic and try again

but if i do get a deer then i got it

a lic only gives you permission to hunt or get married or drive it does not mean you have to
