Goodness some people put stupid answers on here! I don't mean to say that yours is a stupid question, it is not. It is a very valid question, but people seem to think that you can just say 'irreconciliable differences' on the divorce papers and the judge says 'oh right, thats fine' and stamps it!

It is not like that. You have to say what the irreconciliable differences ARE!

I have been divorced twice. The first time he wanted to divorce me. We had been separated and living apart for more than two years and we both agreed to the divorce so that was ok for that one. For the second one, i divorced him and had to give reasons why i didnt want to live with him any longer. They have to be genuine reasons, but dont worry a divorce solicitor will help you sort it out.

If you don't want to go through a solicitor you can do it yourself and i believe there are lots of sites online to help you through the process.

Most divorces in this country are not contested. It should be ok. Its horrible getting divorced but it does end, and then you can move on in your life and hopefully be happier.

Good luck.

There has to be justifable reason as to why you wish to divorce. They will want to know what that reason is for you to get the divorce in full swing. If you feel embarrased bay anything that has happened during the marriage, you have to get over it. You must be honest and once the divorce is made absolute you can forget it all, move on and have a new life.

You can divorce by mutual consent in the process of which the issues are not discussed in the court. Judge pronounces divorce decree without hearing the reasons for divorce. In the divorce of mutual consent both husband and wife have the same attorney.

Yes e.g irreconcilable differences or adultery and you can only divorce on certain grounds "i don't fancy her anymore wont do", but you just need to re-phrase what you want to say into one of the more acceptable categories.

Yes you do. The most common one is that you find it impossible to live with your spouse.
