Ahhh that would all depend on the ape in question....
You could have your rare Orangubat or the lesser known Silverbat or if it's the common variety the Battey which no boy wants to be seen out with.

Mine are called Mungo, Fang and Simon. I keep them in a big cage in the living room and occasionally let them fly out to fetch me a pizza or kebab.

In German a bat is a "Fledermaus" or literally Flying Mouse, so perhaps "Flederaffe" --Flying ape....

or, like a sugarglider....a Simiglider.....
