Absolutely agree with you - it is voyeurism and seems to me to appeal to the very worst in the viewer, giving them the right to spy on and judge others. Having watched clips of the antics of George Galloway, I feel only revulsion both at the programme makers and some of the individuals involved for degrading themselves in this way. Most of these must be vulnerable individuals to think they could be doing themselves anything but harm, and I have sympathy for them.
I can only go by what is reported in the press, but if their descriptions of the type of situations these people are put in is accurate, then it should be taken off. It is abuse.

I am amazed at how many people watch this drivel. I once looked at 10 mins of the first series of BB to see what it was all about, and after 10 mins I turned over to watch something intresting.
As someone said its only on because it is much cheaper to make than any other TV, so the companies make more profit. Sadly some deluded people consider it to be 'entertainment' and are up in arms about the latest revelations.
The companies are rubbing there hands at the publicity, whilst anyone with any sence just rolls their eyes to the heavens at the 'contestants' and the fans proving that when it comes to being stupid certain sections of British society still lead the world.
Edit
Mickey celebrity shoot out now that I would watch!
Jo I dont, and I never have watched it, but why do I have to listen to it on news programmes, in newspapers, on radio, and every 10th question on Yahoo Answers is about it. I have much more important things to do, and I don't want to be turned stupid like so many viewers obviously have.

I agree totally. The makers should be held responsible. If they had any morals the likes of Davina would refuse to be apart of it.Carphone Warehouse should also pull out as sponsers. Shilpa is a guest in our country and should be treated as such. On the upside perhaps now everyone will see that some people go through that kind of abuse on a daily basis and will think twice b4 they make remarks that can hurt people. The phrase 'Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me' is totally untrue. Yes physical abuse leaves bruises etc but unkind words can scar a persons mind for a life time. The scars are just not visible. I think that they should remove Shilpa. Put her in a nice hotel and leave the others in so that we can see who they turn on next. Hopefully it will be against themselves. Then just b4 the winner is announced put Shilpa back so that she can win.

Hi, you mention how humiliating and degrading it is, well thats life, it happens in school, it happens at home and it happens in the work place, it is a representation of how we the public get treated by our goverment and how individuals react to this treatment however bad it may be, yes it may make people ashamed, but ignoring this sort of stuff will not make it go away.
and everyone in this world is different, some people think of it as a laugh, some dont, I myself dont like it, but I do believe that it is the right of every individual to have their own opinion and belief.

I honestly thought the reality/celeb TV bubble would burst, but it appears to be getting stronger. Sky 1 has been almost impossible to watch last year, celebrity circus tricks, celebrity car racing, etc. You have absolute toilet like soapstar superstar, its just a never ending stream of poop. They need to have celebrity shootout where they stick all the celebs on an island with uzi's AK47's, grenades and they do battle till only one survives. Jade, Paris Hilton, Tara Tomkinson Plonkinson, Uri Geller, Wags, etc............now that would be entertainment.

Like you i have been gobsmacked at the verbal attacks that have been happening on big brother. This year i have noticed it more then ever and it seems to be aimed mainly at just one person. I agree i will not be watching it again . I do not agree with bullying and will not sit and watch someone be bullied for entertainment.

I watched 5 minutes of it last night and was horrified. What must other countries think of us?
BTW I thought the Bollywood girl conducted herself with great dignity. Pity the Brits on it aren't as well brought up and polite as her.

It's embarrasing. Reality tv is obviously cheap to make. That's why there's so much of it. But this isn't even reality tv because it's so contrived. They just put together a bunch of idiots, who they know won't get on, and then let things unfold and call it entertainment. It's an insult to intelligence.
