windows xp has built in cd burning software you usually just need to right click on a file or folder and add to cd drive and when you're done adding right click on the cd drive in explorer and select burn files to cd. if you have an older version of windows you may need some aditional burning software like roxio or nero.

Two ways what ever i know if u have a cd writer.
1. Windows cd witing wizard
2. Nero Cd burn
In case of 1st one, we need to copy the file on to the cd drive and then follow the instructions that r given by windows when we click the link that says "write these file to the cd"
for the second case i don't know as i have never used that one.

Usually blank CDs are write-protected. So you cannot put, erase or modify anything on it. That is why you need a cd burner for copying those files into the cd.

If you are trying to save a document onto a CD here is what you do:
Make sure the blank CD is in the D:Drive. Next you click save as: then you click on the scroll bar Drive D. It should now be saved onto the disc. For more help go to HELP on your Program.
I hope I helped!
