I'm off to Paris in a few weeks and was lookign to buy a pocket guide. With so many on the market - whsch ones are best?

ie: Time out, Lonley Planet. DK etc etc

The best city guides are definetly the 'rough guide to..' series.
I used a lot of them while traveling Europe on my year out.

search for suggestion from lonely planet or yet another commute handbook. perchance confer along with your church, or different Christians who've come to Israel. you haven't got too a lot time so i'd propose a visit to the lifeless Sea, or a visit to the Galillee. you will see the Kinneret (i imagine also referred to as Sea of Galillee). If you are using Android this particular helps you find anything where ever you go in the world. This app is GPS enabled and it can drag accurate information from Google Local places. Its a All cities city guide.

berlitz. They are a good size plus they're not full of hundreds of restaurants which have paid money just to be in there.

berlitz maps are good, too.
