Someone told me that in certain cases, your doctor can complete a form that will help your Social Security disability case be approved much faster.

I am currently waiting for my appeal with the law judge to be scheduled. I've been waiting nearly a year, just for that!

I first filed in January of 2005!!!

I have never seen a form that a doctor can fill out. The only form I have seen was a green disability form, that you probably filled out when you first applied. Their is something you can have your doctor do though that may help at your hearing, when ever that may be. If you have a lawyer assisting you with this they may be working on this now, but if it has not been done yet you may want to have your Doctor start working on it.

The SSA has a strict set of guidelines they use when deciding if someone is disabled. These guide lines are called the listings. You should find the area of the listings that pertain to your disability (http://www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/AdultListings.htm)

Print out the section or sections that pertain to you. You can then give them to your doctor and ask him/her to write a letter to the SSA explaining whey he/she believes you meet those listings. If your doctor can send back up with it, even better.

Good luck with the hearing. You requested it two years ago so you may only have another year left to wait to have it scheduled.

Keep on waiting...Have you tried an attorney...Truth be told most the time they are hoping you kick the bucket before they approve you...my mother got sick and applied she didnt get it for two years, 3 months later she passed....Your best bet is an attorney though even then its a wait...sorry
