The average person in a communist society will work hard, get a living wage (just) might get to travel a bit and stands a pretty good chance of being shot if he steps out of line.

A person living in a Capitalist society might get to work, get a wage, can travel where he likes if he has the money and gets screwed at every turn.

A person living in a Socialist society doesn't have to work, will get enough money to keep him complaining and is only happy if he has zero ambition.

Since no one lives in a truly Democratic society I cant comment on its effect. Basically the people (and no one is more stupid than all of us) get to vote for our favorite Megalomaniac who will give you sweets while stealing your food.
