yes u can use ur old working cd-ROM as audio disk player, where ur have to build a power supply 12v and 5v externally

plug the headphone set to audio socket provided in front panel and enjoy listening music

Yes you can. All you need is a PC power supply (ask a PC service center or search as separate spare part) an an audio cable (not data cable) to connect your CD-Rom with the external power amplifier (you can use any audio equipment which have audio input connection) Some function you will can't access for (eg. forward, rewind) but definitely you can use simple play. For sure only Audio CD will be supported. There is nothing to damage.

?? Do you mean to ask if you can use a CD rom if you don't have a PC to play it on? Probably not.It'll probably break your music CD player.
