The way the word PEPSI originated was accidental actually. Well 15 - 6 - 36 was the date the word was found. When this word is read upside down you get PEPSI. It was the brainstorm of an employee when they were all thinking of giving the beverage a suitable name.

There are 2 discussed theories

he only two discussed within the current PepsiCo website are the following:

1. Caleb Bradham bought the name "Pep Kola" from a local competitor and changed it to Pepsi-Cola.
2. "Pepsi-Cola" is an anagram for "Episcopal" - a large church across the street from Bradham's drugstore. There is a plaque at the site of the original drugstore documenting this, though PepsiCo has denied this theory.

Caleb Bradham was Pharmacist who invented it.

Dear friend

It is just a marvel of advertising ingenuity. Though I am not sure about the origin of the word as said above, I strongly have some words that it mimes to mean....

*pepsin:stomach enzyme that digests protein: an enzyme produced in the stomach that breaks down proteins into simpler compounds.
It can be extracted from the stomachs of calves and hogs for use as a digestive aid and in the production of cheese.

*pepo: pe·po [ppō]
(plural pe·pos)
noun
watery fruit: a fruit of the gourd family, e.g. a melon, squash, pumpkin, or cucumber, that typically has a firm or hard rind, a large number of flat seeds, and soft watery flesh.

*peppy (adj) : lively
lively, sprightly, perky, frisky, playful, spry, animated, vivacious, energetic, vigorous
antonym: lethargic

Anyways..... the thing is bad and ought to be banned!!!
