Stability for having an election with a clear majority winner. That winner is able to go on and administer policy. There are a lot of places that vote for a dozen parties, none of them have a chance at a majority and months after the election they are left trying to form a coalition to take government. Thus it takes longer, and you could vote for one platform, only to have it compromised in agreement with a party you didn't vote for.

Having said that, your 2 party system is far from perfect.

Lot of funds given to other parties will be in someway available for public benefit and welfare. Other party celebrities will be doing lot of odd jobs without politics and its vandalism.
