i recently heard from my science teacher that some sciencetist are trying to find out what atoms are made of...even though they are now the smallest particles. My science teacher said they are called quarks, does anyone have more information about it? because i want to share it with my classmates...

The theory behind quarks are pure energy in a circumference not bound by practical laws. These different energies also carry different tones, or colours, and or behaviours. Energy is always changing but is never lossed in a quarks.
A quarks is like a elestic band. It can be stretched, twisted, conpacted, but as of yet, nobody can say if it can be distroyed. The therory states the energy can only be changed not distroyed.

Atoms are not the smallest. Atoms are made of electrons, protons, and neutrons.

Scientists know that protons and neutrons are made of even smaller particles called quarks. Small particles like electrons and neutrinos are also called leptons.

Maybe they're made of something even smaller.

Timmy D answer is OK. Just add that electrons, protons and neutrons can be separated and lots of experiments have been done with them. But quarks cannot be separated to be individually studied. At least up to the moment.

I apologize for my bad english.
