Loaded question- I really think not. You have to state irreconsible differences, fraud under pre-tense of marriage, abuse, abandoment, etc and all have to be legally proven. I would advise you speak to a lawyer (many will/do give free consultations) and go from there.

Where not living in the dark ages no more. It's right to divorce if you want to. This is the U.S. A There is no legal reason why you would have to stay married. It could be a moral reason in that will hold up in court. You do have to give a reason. Most divorces end up because they don't get a long no more. But no you don't have to have a legal reason.

Most states in the US now have "no fault" divorce which means that you simply have to state that the parties no longer get along or have "irreconcilable differences." That is the legal reason. Basically, in practice, it can be just becuase you don't want to be married anymore. It doesn't have to be because of some terrible issue or something the other person did. If you don't want to be married anymore, for whatever reason, you can file and get a divorce in the US.

In the US,you can divorce if you want to but you must have a legally acceptable reason for the filing (for example, irreconcilable differences).

Not any more. The courts are so full of divorce petitions, they will award the divorce for no reason at all. Its probably a bad thing and probably contributes to the high rate of divorces but no you dont need a reason anymore.

there should be legal reason for legal divorce... you cannot say it just because you want. there are grounds in order to file a divorce and you can ask your lawyer regarding that.

I'm sure it varies from state to state, in most instances you would claim irreconcilable differences as the reason.
