Baseball's not only a sport. Is a whole way of life. It even has it's own language. There's no sport that offers so many statistics and records. No other sport in the world receives a higher attendance than baseball, with over 100 million fans attending Major and Minor league games in 2006.
Baseball is the sport about which more movies have been made, and about which more books have been written. A baseball season is like a small lifetime, during which every day a new hero shows up, maybe the same guy that the night before ruined a game with an error.
Check out this quote by Jim Bouton:
"You think you've spent your whole career holding a baseball in your hand, then you finally find out it was all the way around"
Man, I love this game.

Baseball is a sport of physical and mental strength.....It is a very fun sport once you understand the concepts and the basics. It is a very easy sport to play...Catch a ball and hit the ball....hitting is probably harder and will take a little longer to get the hang of....if you try and cant make contact keep trying...it takes a couple weeks to get the hang of it.....now the sport is Americas past time as you may have heard....it is a community game that many can rellate to.....One thing that makes it a very masculine game is that it is a passion....You really have to love it with a passion to enjoy it due to how much it demands from you as a player....alot of time, practice, and you mind.....It is great exersise do to their is alot of running and arm movement involved...it is a great way to get stronger arms and legs very quickly......Now i'm a big baseball fan and i've seen many of my friends quit withing a week due to it being harder than it looks on TV....if u dont get it at first keep trying and eventually you'll see some major improvement and then you''ll have alot of fun

I've loved baseball all my life -- I actually got my husband to enjoy it. He's more of a football guy. What I love about it, especially going to a game live, is that it can be relaxing and entertaining, and then crazy exciting the next minute. There's so much talent in the MLB. I mean, pitching, hitting, fielding... if it were easy we'd all have million dollar contracts. I really appreciate watching these guys hustle. And NOT just 'cause some are cute.
Mmmm... Oswalt...

I am going to have to agree with the first couple people's answers. I have been a fan of the game since I was 11, and I think it's one of the most amazing things ever. If you appreciate what is being done on the field, what the players are doing, the mental and physical strength it takes to play, then you get it.

It is the great American pastime. It makes me happy. I have been watching since I was little. So, it also brings back some old memories. It is exciting. It has been around since the 1800's. I am always happy when I watch baseball.

if you understand the physics of the game you would know all the b.s. like steroids, labor contract disputes, and bad umpires have nothing to do with the pure essence of a pitcher/batter duel. you have to absorb yourself in the game and really appreciate it to undertsand it. i am consumed by the game to the point where i have passed on higher income to work in the professional baseball business but it's my life. you can enjoy the game just as much if you open your mind and go to a game and just enjoy the atmosphere.

If you're talking about how playing baseball is good for you, its main advantage is in developing hand/eye coordination. The game also requires good general conditioning, particularly good running ability.
