I went through this very same thing with this baby. I found out I was pregnant and I went out and bought 3 tests...just to be SURE...then I went to my OB/GYN and he confirmed it. Then when I had the 1st of many ultrasounds, they could not find the baby at all...I was FRANTIC to say the least...I went out and bought 3 more tests and they came up positive. I went in for another scan 2 weeks later and they saw the yolk sac but no baby...two more weeks of waiting and panicing...more tests...finally, there was my boy on the third scan...beating heart and all...I am about to deliver any day but I still remember that 1st month like it was yesterday...Hang on and I hope all goes well for you!!

If the spotting was just a few drops of blood, especially right after sex or a very active day, there is probably nothing to worry about. I would assume that there is nothing to worry about, especially if you don't have any pain or cramping.
It the spotting goes on for a few days, it probably isn't great news, especially if you are less than 8 weeks.
Even after a D&C, you can still have pregnancy hormones in your system for about 24 hours. The hormones measured by the test aren't related to the health or existence of the little zygote, but to the production of the placenta.
I am stunned that they would ask you to wait a few weeks for a scan. If the spotting continues for another 24 hours, I would go to the hospital. They can't prevent a miscarriage, but they can help protect your future fertility.
Early pregnancy is not a great time, but it is really important that you are prepared for the worst, even while you try not to worry. Life with children is like that too, so it is good to start stocking up on knowledge now.
I am sorry this isn't all smooth sailing. Please post again when you know what is up.

You can have a positive pregnancy test after miscarriage. When i miscarried i did, plus i had all my simptoms for a good 7 days after. I was about 7 weeks at the time.I started spotting with no pain, and after 7 days it got worse and on day 8 i miscarried. Their are other things apart from miscarriage it can be.
Try not to worry, maybe do another test in about a week, or ask for a blood test see if your hormones are rising or falling.

It could be either one. You won't know for sure until a sonogram is done. It's not uncommon for you to spot early in your pregnancy. Usually, a small amount of spotting or staining is common during early pregnancy and will not cause miscarriage. However, if you have heavy vaginal bleeding with cramps, you should get a sonogram to make sure that the fetus continues to have a good fetal heartbeat and is adequately growing. If the sonogram shows a fetus and a fetal heartbeat, the baby should do fine.

Light spotting is common in early pregnancy. The best way i can explain to you is that it is part of your last cycle. I have had four healthy and happy children and i spotted with all of them,
Don't worry to much as that can cause a miscarriage. Just take it easy and look forward to seeing your baby on your next scan.
Good Luck

Light spotting does not indicate a miscarriage-- that would cause very heavy bleeding and probably cramping. But to answer your question, yes, you would still have a positive test for a while after a miscarriage.

You could be having some break-through bleeding. If the doctor isn't worried, you shouldn't be too worried either. Worrying in fact will make things worse.
As long as your hCG levels aren't going down, you're fine.
