I suggest whatever you enjoy reading. Read of lot of it, and try to analyse what makes it work. Write descriptions of some characters - best based on people you know but use some imagination. Take a setting with which you are familiar. Put your characters in that setting, in roles to suit their personalities. Then ask "what if". The characters should largely take it from there, if you have any talent for writing. From then on it's largely a matter of lots of work, lots of patience, lots of rewriting, and lots of self-critical review. After that it's a matter of learning selectively from criticism, and doing it all over and over again. The hardest work I know. Only write because you must - not because you "want to be a writer", although that works for some including Somerset Maughan.

Before you ever consider writing a book you should have some personal opinion of your own about what makes a story work or not.
If you can tell a story then you can pick almost any subject and use it as a background for your characters.
If you want your story to be beleivable you should write about something you know something about.
If you want to make up a fantasy story that is fine too, as long as your characters emotions and motivations are believable.
Most stories can be reduced to a simple formula: "Someone wants something and has to overcome obstacles to get it."

I would love to read a book about Wesley Autrey. There are numerous documentaries and books about serial killers and criminals like Capone, the recently O. J. Simpson confession, and many others. I think it would be a great idea, write a book presenting the opposite side of violence and presenting the first time, this men, based on the real fact of his heroic behavior. It's not a book about Mary Teresa, but a book about a a hidden supermen between the cold new york people. A men whom its simplicity was the cover for his real identity, a heroic identity. It would be great too, if you could add in your book, interviews he provided to the press and and talks shows like the David Lettermen, to show to the readers the line of thinking of a real hero, and of course a scientific view of this men with famous and renowned psychiatrist. I would add statistics too, to show how many people in a millions had heroic acts on similar circumstances... One in a million? The check he won, wasn't of one million dollars but ten thousand dollars from Mr.Trump that saw a good opportunity to promote himself on having his name next to Mr.Autrey.
PS: You could add some others examples to this book.

the book should be about stamps, the ink ones, not the ones on letters.
Anyway, their should be a magic inkpad in the story so that any thing that gets stamped becomes alive. For example, if a kid had a stamp of a dinosaur and stamped it on the ink and then on to paper it would come alive. Havoc and mayhem ensues.

I guess that would depend on what every person likes. Personally I love ghost stories. Not enough of them around these days.
